Yes certainly judging by the attendance in DAP's & PKR's daily ceramah, the winds of change is blowing strongly especially in urban areas. You might think the attendance might not translated into votes but I would rather believe that the donations do. In USJ12 where Lim Kit Siang spoke for Hannah Yeoh, that night itself DAP managed to get RM31k from attendees, and SS2 night market to get RM35k and Penang is championing all by hitting RM120k from the crowds of 30000!
Yet I am not optimistic as the EC despite of the BERSIH rally has begun some hanky-panky by transporting phantom voters, postal votes which in favor of BN. The most stunning and upsetting was that the scrap of use of indelible ink. There are even voters live up to 128 years-old, if that is true he/she can be listed into Guiness Record book! How could the president of EC still dare to tell they have never been dirty and the system that they are having is perfect?!
What worrying the most is the 'old' kind of thinking the voters are having - "opposition for parliament, BN for state". They are worried that the opposition won't have the ability to 'develop' their place. Are they still wanting more developments in their place? Are they have not enough of traffic problems? Are they have not enough of pollution? Do they still want their tax money to be wasted on State Assemblyman's palace? In most of the urban places for instances PJ, KL, Subang etc I am quite sure that most of the residents wish not to see anymore 'white elephants' and developments that cause more massive traffic jam and pollution. Same thing to myself, I am from a small town, Bentong in Pahang. My friends and relatives including myself do not wish this beautiful and peaceful small town to be over developed. We would rather want an approachable state government and local council that is clean from corruptions and care for our welfare.
Since the election campaign started, I have been busy circulating the emails and sms that I received to friends and relatives to create the awareness among them. The main stream medias are way too controlled by the government and most of them who don't have access to internet might have been blinded by most of the medias. Looking at the BN advertisement during campaign we all should be aware of that. The facts and truths are all hidden behind the lights. I am not worried for my young and educated friends who are tech savvy. They could have long known the dark sides of our government. Unfortunately many of the youngster either are not keen in casting their votes or they are NOT REGISTERED VOTERS! How sad.. However, I wish I have done my best to help spreading the words around.
I urge all of you to boycott the main stream medias and subscribe only to malaysiakini etc. We as malaysian do not want to be fooled!
Some of the chinese think that if MCA is down there will be no chinese there in parliament to voice up for us. This is so wrong! Where were the lady MCA MPs and what were they doing when Batu Gajah MP Fong Poh Kuan was harassed 'tiap tiap bulan bocor'? Did they speak up for the justice? The answer is NO. MCA and Gerakan are just 'Yesman' to UMNO. There are no track records as they advertised on papers. There were no truths but lies and craps. There is no doubt that Chinese needs representatives and voices in government but what kind of people that we are needing? People who make empty promises? People who peep at people making love? or people who intends to build up he and his brother's dynasty? What's the point? They are seen as weak, greedy, selfish and dignity-less politicians! They serve for UMNO not for us.
I hope this election, let's disable MCA, take them down. Do not sympathize. If you are being kind to MCA, you are being cruel to the future of the nation and the chinese, most importanly the next generation!
Defeat MCA. Cast both of the state and parliament votes to opposition, be it DAP, be it PKR and be it PAS!
